Review: Huda Beauty Winter Solstice Collection Highlighting Palette & Lip Strobe Minis

Hi loves! I finally picked up something from Huda Beauty! I have been eyeing the brand for some time and now finally ordered some of their products off Cult Beauty. The delivery was super fast with that page and they give free shipping on orders over £40.00.

I picked up their Winter Solstice Collection Highlighting Palette (£40.00, 3x7.5g, 1x6g) & Lip Strobe Minis (£33.00, 4x2ml). This collection is all about the glow, which I feel my skin needs this time of the year.

Lets start with the highlighter palette. It contains one cream highlighter Frosted Kiss, which is a base for other highlighters. There is no cover over it, so the the other powder do get into it, which already happened to me, so I'm not a fan that the cream product doesn't have any cover over it. The other shades in the palette are Arctic Glow, which is cool tone lilac blue and I would have not thought I can pull it off. It looks really pretty and flattering. Then there is Northern Lights, which I have worn the most. Its beautiful glimmering yellow gold and has been my goto highlighter. The last shade in the palette is Winter Rose, which is shimmery pink. Its perfect to use together with more pink blush.

The cream shade is the most everyday shade. The others as you can see are pigmented, so I always use light hand with them when applying. These last all day on me and I can build it up to be blinding. I'm so happy I got it and now I want the other highlighting palettes from her, not that I need more highlighters.

Now lets talk about the Lip Strobe Minis Set, which contains 4 shades: Charmed, Bewitched, Starcrossed and Hypnotic.

These give the appearance of fuller looking lips. These are packed with very fine glitter and also duo-chrome pigments. These matched with the shades in the highlighting palette. These don't feel sticky on lips and because of that it does loose the glossiness after eating, but the pigments/shimmer stays on lips.

I like these are mini size and these have regular doe foot applicator. These are all perfect lip toppers, but there is one shade I like to wear on its own and its Charmed and its coral tone with reflective pearl. Bewitched is an opalescent lilac with warm sapphire undertones and Starcrossed is a white gold duo-chrome with warm sapphire undertones. The last shade in the kit is Hypnotic and its a mix of silver and pink and looks stunning on lips (its my other favorite). Down below you can see the swatches of all 4 shades.

Again its my first time to try her products and I really like these glosses. These make my lips look fuller and these look so unique. I don't think I have ever had anything like this in my collection and a mini size is perfect for me. I feel I can actually use up these :)

I'm so happy I ended up getting this collection. It was great introduction to her products and I wanna try out more :) I do already have 2 of their smaller palettes, which I'll start testing out and share with you guys as soon as possible.

Whats your favorite Huda Beauty product?

Review: Anastasia Beverly Hills Prism Palette

Hi loves! Happy to share with you my experience with my first Anastasia Beverly Hills palette, which is their Prism Palette (14x0.7g, £43.00). This palette contains 14 eyeshadows (7 mattes,  duo-chrome/metallic finish shadows), mirror and double ended brush.

The outside packaging is a black velvet fabric, which does get dirty and all the hair gets stuck to it (I have 2 cars). I'm not fan of the outer packaging, even though when its clean it does look stylish.

This is so unique palette and I feel I don't have many shadows in my collection, which look like this. These are pigmented shadows, specially the mattes and these blend out so easily. I feel that some of the metallics are not as good and I have to work bit harder to get the result I want with these. These are long lasting shadows. I use an eyeshadow primer under my every eye look and these last on me all day without creasing or fading.

Down below you can see all the shadows swatches and my thoughts on them.

  • Lucid - is duo-chrome white gold with pink reflects. I have been using it as inner corner of the eye highlight. It looks beautiful and it applies better when applied with wet brush (I spray Urban Decay setting spray on it before applying it).
  • Eden - is their super ultra-matte and its coral pink. I love using it in the crease.
  • Unity - is ultra-matte and described as nude ochre. Its the only shadow I still haven't used in the palette.
  • Sphinx - is metallic warm bronze. This looks beautiful all over the lid.
  • Osiris - is a metallic violet with red reflect and I used it today's look, which you can see here. Its perfect for smoky look.
  • Sphere - is ultra-matte electric green-yellow. I did a look with and you can see it here.
  • Obsidian - is ultra-matte black. Its perfect to use as liner, which I have been doing, if I don't do winged out liner.
  • Dimension -  is a duo-chrome silver gray with pink reflects. Its one of the shadows I used also today's look, which I linked above. I did have bit hard time with it, I needed to build it up.
  • Parallel - is dark brown ultra-matte and its perfect to darken up the outer V.
  • Pyramid - is metallic yellow gold and I have been using it in the middle of the lid and I use it in the video down below.
  • Throne - is metallic blackened blue green with multi colored reflects. This is such a gorgeous deep shade for this time of the year.

  • Saturn - is ultra matte terracotta, which I have been using mostly in the crease.
  • Eternal - is is metallic bronzer, which was one of the shadows I had issues with. I needed to build it up to get the result I want.
  • Lure - ultra matte ashy lilac. Looks perfect in the crease.

Down below you can see a look I created using this palette. I hope you guys enjoy it :)

I'm so happy I got it! I feel I can make all the shadows work for myself and I like the end result. I didn't experience any fall out, but I made sure I tapped off the brush (otherwise I would get fall out). I'm so happy with it, that I wanna pick up their other shadow palettes. If you are interested in this one you can check it out here

Do you have this palette? Will you pick it up?

Review: Sisley Instant Perfect

Hi loves! Today's post is on a luxury item and their products always have skincare benefits. I have been testing out Sisley Instant Perfect (20ml, 50 euros). I had deluxe sample of it and I liked it so much that I went and bought the full size.

The primer comes in a light pink squeeze tube packaging and it looks more like a skincare item then a makeup one. It promises to fill in and smooth fine lines and wrinkles. Also claims to reduce the shine and pores. It even promises to smooth and fill long term wrinkles. It claims to help with skin texture and makes your skin velvety for the makeup to last longer. It also provides hydration to the skin.

The primer itself also looks light pink. It makes my skin feels so smooth. The primer sinks into the skin fast, takes away my shine and my skin still feels like skin. I feel some other primers feel more thick on the skin and the skin can't breath as well as with this primer (specially the ones targeted for pores).

I noticed when using it my makeup does apply better and everything blends into the skin fast. I would even go so far and say it doesn't let my foundation cake on me. I do get oily with it, because I have oily skin type. There is nothing stopping the oil except a lot of setting spray.

Down below you can see the before and after pictures. It definetly takes away the shine and I feel like my pores do look better, but its not as blurring as some of my other primers. I think because of that I don't get clogged pores. It also brightens my complexion up in a flattering way.

I'm very happy with this primer. It makes my skin look healthy on its own and whenever I use this primer, my foundation never looses the coverage even though the oily comes through. If you wanna check it out I'll link it here.

Which primer makes you skin look the best?

Review: Lorac POREfection Foundation | PR1 Fair

Hi loves! Today's post is on the Lorac POREfection Foundation and I have shade in PR1 Fair (33.3ml, $38.00). It contains SPF20 and the formula is oil free, paraben and fragrance free. The foundation itself comes in a plastic bottle and has a pump. I like I can see how much product I have left.

Its infused with anti-aging antioxidants of vitamin A and E, olive leafs extract, lemon fruit extract and papaya fruit extract. These help to sooth, nourish and rejuvenate skin. SPF 20 provides protection from harmful UVA/UVB rays.

This foundation gives me medium coverage, which I can build up. I have oily skin type and this doesn't keep me matte itself, I do need to take extra steps for it to last on me all day. The foundation itself has a natural finish, so its not completely matte. I do set it with translucent powder. I would get oily in the middle of the day, but I can prevent it when I set my makeup with Urban Decay setting spray. Then I do get bit oily in the T-zone, but it happens end of the day and its too few (just between my brows).

The shade Fair is perfect match for me. It doesn't oxidate on me and stays true all day. The staying powder is great with the UD setting spray. It doesn't fade and I don't loose the coverage through out the day. I do like to wear it on special occasion (with all the extra steps) when I go out with friends.

All the info on the ingredients is from EWG's Skin Deep Cosmetics Database(low hazardmedium hazardhigh hazard). If I haven't colored an ingredient it means I didn't find it in the database.

Down below you can see the demo video and how it applies and hides all the imperfections and conceals all my redness.

Overall I'm happy with this foundation. It gives me good coverage, matches me well and doesn't cause my skin to brake out. Also I can make it last on my oily skin all day <3

If you are interested you can find this foundation on Amazon (link).

What foundation you use at the moment?
